Happy Birthday Bubba!

Riding his little yellow dumptruck
up and down the drive,
his most favorite thing to do.
a tough little guy,
always bumping his head on things,
causing his young parents worry...
as all us parents do!
His heart was always so tender, easily broken...fragile if you will.
He was also full of compassion, gentle...loving....
which made him so lovable and real.
When he turned three he began to complain
with headaches so severe and with such pain.
So his parents began to pray to God
for answers...for hope...and for healing.
when in reality this was only the beginning
a life changing moment.....
two young parents could never prepare for its coming.
The doctors offered little hope for their little boy
no medicines... the treatments were not working.
Daily they watched him slip away....
and finally found him in a coma.
As they watched him lie there...
so innocent, so fragile, and worn
many prayers..many tears and many talks with God
kept their hearts wretched, sometimes bitter and torn.
God heard their prayers, their heartfelt cries
He felt their tears of pain....
the fear of losing their firstborn child
their little boy, the blond haired, blue eyed one
their lives would never be the same.
The Lord's hand never left their little boy
He always had a divine plan.
One day He would awaken him
and strengthen him with His loving hand.
For He knew the plans He had for him
He wasn't quite yet through-
Cause there were lots of things He needed him for
and God's call is always true!
The little blond hair, blue eyed boy was healed
and given new life through Him
God's plan never faltered, He never gave up-
And all praise and glory, We give to Him!

This photo was taken the day my brother got out of the hospital
from having Spinal Meningitis.
It was the first time he had gotten to see me
and hold me because I was born while he was there!
When Matt was 3 1/2 he was diagnosed with Spinal Meningitis. The doctors tried everything for him but were left with no hope except for one drug that was no longer being used and had to be signed for by my parents, giving them permission to try the drug on him. Thankfully the drug saved his life. Once out of the hospital he continued to have severe seizures and headaches that would leave him screaming with pain, the doctors said that he could very well have them and other symptoms for life.
But, we believe in a Healing God and He is seizure and symptom free to this day!
I believe Matt and I have always shared a special bond because when I was six weeks old I was lying next to my mother and let out cry that sent shivers through her. In her heart she knew something was not right. They immediately took me to the hospital and found out that I, too had spinal meningitis. There was not much hope for me either, they thought they were going to lose me as well. The doctors were so perplexed as to how and why two siblings could have spinal meningitis in the same family! It was definitely not common to get and unheard of to have in the same family! But, once again, we believe in a Healing God and He delivered me as well!
I'm so thankful for God's Healing hand.
I'm so thankful that God chose to spare us and
not only heal us, but to let us live a normal and healthy life.
I love you Bubba!
Happy 37th Birthday!
